This is a rather unique specimen of amethyst. Usually, when amethyst from Brazil forms, the crystals are lighter at the base and get darker as they grow. However, this piece has done the opposite, leaving rather clear crystals sitting on top of a dark purple base. This gives the pieces a completely different look than the others. Not to mention, there are some small calcite crystals tucked away too!
