A hand-made bust in the Revived Classical Style, of the Roman emperor Hadrian(117 to 138 A.D.) Made in Bath, England.A handmade plaster bust of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Born Publius Aelius Hadrianus, Hadrian was the Emperor of Rome between 117–138 AD. Known as the ‘Travelling Emperor’, he spent a lot of his reign outside of Italy, visiting countries and fortifying the boundaries of the Roman Empire. In the U.K. his most remarkable accomplishment was the building of Hadrian’s Wall, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hadrian would later become known as one of the ‘Five Good Emperors’ of ancient Rome. The base of this bust features a replica of the Pantheon, rebuilt during his reign, and the words “Peace Through Strength”. An impressive home ornament.
