This is a huge lift for in-app content discovery — a move away from making listening decisions based on static content, such as cover art, to using the audio content itself as a teaser. It has been an effort across many teams at the company. The path to generating the home feed podcast previews for millions of episodes on Google Dataflow, making use of the Apache Beam Python SDK, has been a complicated one.
