Lane brand cedar chests are a rare find these days, popular from the 30s-60s. On the bottom of this piece is another stamp of history - it was purchased from Simpson's in Regina back in the day, whenever that was! These chests are so versatile because they can be used at the edge of a bed, as a toy chest, can even use as a coffee table with storage! I just love the bubble legs on this piece! The top of this chest was sanded down to the raw, a light paint wash in a warm beige was applied to tone out the red that it was for that light and bright coastal look. Coated in satin poly for protection. For the bottom, I wanted a neutral shade that wasn't quite off white - something a bit different. I used 2/3 of Behr's shade Swiss Coffee (off white) and 1/3 of Behr's shade Perfect Taupe to get this custom taupe greige shade which makes it just that much more unique! The lock mechanism has been disabled and taken out for safety. Dimensions are 40” wide, 19” deep and 19” tall. The back of this item is painted as well. Exact paint colors and products used can be given upon request if interested in purchasing. All items come with touch up paint and list of items used to take home! 11% GST / PST is included in the pricing so you can view the "all in" price.
