The Lost Art Press Chore coat is an American-made shop jacket that is based closely on French coats worn by woodworkers during the 20th century. This coat is proudly stitched by Sew Valley of Cincinnati, Ohio. Constructed of soft, durable and breathable cotton drill, our chore coat features reinforced pockets, custom buttons (that are debossed with Lost Art Press) and an embroidered interior pocket featuring our skep logo. Designed by woodworker Tom Bonamici, the chore coat is ideal for shop work and is nice enough to wear to a restaurant. It moves easily when planing and sawing and has room in its pockets for a variety of small tools. This is a three-season jacket and is designed to be worn over a single layer of clothing. We recommend you order one size larger if you wish to layer a shirt or sweater under it. Or if you like to have more room in the body of a jacket – these are cut a little slimmer than typical commercial jackets. The jacket is available in sizes small, medium, large, extra large and XXL. Because of the tight margins on this coat and the fact that we are not a high-volume clothing maker, these jackets can be returned within 30 days. (If there is a defect in manufacturing, you can return it at anytime, of course.) The jackets are made from pre-shrunk English cotton twill. It's a lot like a soft denim. Flexible and hard-wearing. The coat can be washed in cold water and dried with low heat.
