Maxell XLII-S C-90, 1981 version. This was the very first original XLII-S, intended to compete mainly with TDK SA-X, Sony UCX-S, and Scotch Master II for upcoming CD recording. Because it was a Type II/High Bias tape, it was much more popular, successful (and expensive) than its Type I companion and lesser grade siblings.
