I'm offering 3D printed trumpet mouthpieces. As a trumpet player myself, I know there are times when a plastic mouthpiece would be preferable to a traditional metal mouthpiece. In the extreme cold weather, a metal mouthpiece can really make playing trumpet difficult. For marching band or outdoor playing, having a plastic mouthpiece can make playing much more comfortable. I'm offering 3D printed mouthpieces in various cup sizes and styles. When buying a commercially available plastic mouthpieces, sometimes selection can be limited to very basic sizes. I have the ability to reference many designs and even make custom mouthpieces to suit the players needs. For example, If you want more of a lead trumpet mouthpiece, it might be hard to find one in plastic from the major mouthpiece retailers. I have a few standard mouthpiece configurations to choose from, and I'm expanding my offerings further over time. Mouthpieces: - Lead - Similar to Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead with a 3C sized rim. - MV 3C - Similar to the Bach Mount Vernon 3C. Slightly more open version of a 3C mouthpiece. - Jazz TF - Deep V shape cup producing a mellower sound with similarities to a flugelhorn with a 3C sized rim. - Jazz DC1 - Double cup mouthpiece that has the same 3C sized rim and cup entrance of the Lead but steps down into a V cup. Produces a darker sound, but still responds quickly like the Lead version. If you have ideas or requests for other mouthpieces, feel free to send a custom order request. These are all 3D printed in PLA or PETG plastic. From experience, the rim will have a more textured feel than a standard metal mouthpiece. This can actually increase the grip onto the mouthpiece to prevent it from slipping around while playing. Since these are plastic, they will not feel as cold as a traditional metal mouthpiece in cold weather. 3D printing is a layer-by-layer process, so there will be visible layer lines, and these will be more delicate than a traditional mouthpiece. I print these mouthpieces at a very fine resolution, so the complex surface contours of the mouthpiece and rim designs are preserved. If you have any questions, please let me know.
