The%20Perfect%20Gift%20for%20Women%20in%20your%20Life%20who%20Love%20Sports%3A%20the%20Strong%20Athletic%20Woman%20T-shirt%0D%0A%0D%0A%0D%0AIn%202013%20Nadia%20Kean%20was%20calling%20her%20teammates%20a%20%22fine%20group%20of%20strong%2C%20athletic%20women%22%20as%20a%20way%20to%20protest%20the%20instances%20in%20which%20they%20were%20referred%20to%20as%20%22girls%22.%20Nadia%20loves%20the%20word%20girl%2C%20but%20only%20when%20it's%20being%20used%20to%20refer%20to%20an%20actual%20child.%20When%20adult%20females%20are%20called%20girls%2C%20she%20finds%20it%20to%20be%20belittling%20and%20problematic.%20Her%20team%20mate%20Cristen%20Perks%20was%20used%20to%20hearing%20her%20refer%20to%20her%20team%20this%20way.%20At%20the%20same%20time%20that%20Nadia%20started%20using%20this%20expression%20Cristen%20started%20to%20play%20around%20with%20graphic%20design%20and%20screen%20printing.%20For%20Christmas%202013%20she%20gave%20Nadia%20a%20shirt%20that%20she%20had%20created%20for%20her.%20It%20was%20a%20simple%20grey%20Tulex%20capped%20sleeve%20t-shirt%20with%20the%20words%20%22Strong%20Athletic%20Woman%22%20printed%20in%20white%20ink%20across%20the%20front.%20Nadia%20put%20the%20shirt%20on%20immediately%26nbsp%3Band%20basically%20could%20only%20be%20found%20not%20wearing%20it%20on%20laundry%20day.%20Once%20she%20started%20wearing%20it%20other%20people%20began%20to%20ask%20her%20where%20they%20could%20get%20one%2C%20and%20so%20in%202014%20with%20Cristen's%20blessing%20and%20support%2C%20she%20ordered%20a%20batch%20of%20shirts%20from%20Cristen%20and%20started%20to%20sell%20them.%26nbsp%3B%0D%0AThis%20shirt%20is%20based%20on%20that%20original%20design%20of%20the%20simple%20grey%20t-shirt%20with%20lettering%20in%20white%20ink.%20The%20original%20design%20was%20just%20the%20words%20but%20we%20decided%20to%20add%20a%20logo%20to%20the%20front%20of%20our%20shirts%20for%20the%20second%20edition%20to%20differentiate%20it%20from%20other%20grey%20shirts%20with%20white%20lettering.%20The%20original%20logo%20was%20the%20Get%20Smarty%20Coaching%20logo%2C%20which%20is%20Nadia's%20coaching%20company.%20The%20third%20edition%20included%20the%20logo%20on%20the%20back.%20Finally%20in%202015%20we%20decided%20that%20the%20shirt%20should%20stand%20alone%20as%20its%20own%20thing%20separate%20from%20Nadia's%20coaching%20company%2C%20so%20Nadia%20asked%20her%20teammate%20Angel%20Ortega%20if%20she'd%20create%20a%20logo%20for%20her%2C%20and%20she%20christened%20the%20company%20Strong%20Athletic.%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%0D%0A%26nbsp%3B%0D%0AAbout%20the%20Production%20of%20these%20Strong%20Athletic%20Shirts%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3B%0D%0A%26nbsp%3B%0D%0AWe%20know%20that%20there%20are%20a%20few%20companies%20that%20make%20awesome%20shirts%20with%20great%20slogans%20and%20sayings%20across%20the%20front.%20One%20thing%20we%20notice%20is%20that%20our%20shirts%20are%20usually%20about%20%245-%2415%20more%20expensive%20than%20other%20shirts%20on%20e-commerce%20sites.%20Ever%20wonder%20why%20there%20is%20such%20a%20price%20difference%3F%20There's%20a%20good%20chance%20that%20some%20of%20those%20companies%20are%20simply%20producing%20more%20shirts%2C%20faster%20and%20so%20their%20overhead%20costs%20are%20lower.%20We%20can't%20speak%20for%20them%20and%20how%20they%20set%20their%20prices%2C%20but%20we%20can%20speak%20for%20ourselves.%26nbsp%3BAt%20Strong%20Athletic%2C%20we%20only%20use%20small-scale%20screen%20printers%20and%20the%20garments%20that%20we%20print%20on%20are%20always%20made%20in%20either%26nbsp%3BW.A.R.P.%20Certified%20facilities%26nbsp%3Bor%20other%20facilities%20that%20meet%20CPSIA%20standards.%20We%20also%20pay%20all%20of%20our%20contract%20employees%20a%20pay%20rate%20that%20is%20in%20line%20with%20living%20wage%20standards.%20The%20majority%20of%20our%20shirts%20are%20associated%20with%20a%20non-profit%20and%20we%20donate%20a%20portion%20of%20profits%20(sometimes%20100%25%20of%20profits)%20to%20causes%20that%20hold%20dear.%26nbsp%3B%26nbsp%3BWe%20believe%20that%20when%20products%20are%20cheap%2C%20someone%20is%20losing%20out%20on%20income.%20We%20don't%20want%20those%20people%20to%20be%20anyone%20involved%20in%20our%20supply%20chain%20or%20who%20work%20for%20Strong%20Athletic.%0D%0A%26nbsp%3B%0D%0AEvery%20single%20Strong%20Athletic%20product%20is%20produced%20by%20a%20small%20scale%20screen%20printer%20or%26nbsp%3Bembroidery%26nbsp%3Bshop.%20The%20majority%20of%20our%20shirts%20are%20printed%20by%20Amanda%20in%20Austin%2C%20Texas%20who%20prints%20out%20of%20the%20Austin%20Screen%20Printer's%20Coop%2C%20a%20screen%20printing%20shop%20that%20is%20member%20owned%20and%20run%20in%20East%20Austin.%20When%20our%20shirts%20are%20not%20printed%20by%20Amanda%20they%20are%20printed%20by%20other%20small-scale%20screen%20printers%20such%20as%20Second%20Avenues%20Ink%20in%20Portland%2C%20Oregon.%26nbsp%3B%0D%0A%26nbsp%3B%0D%0AEvery%20Strong%20Athletic%20Shirt%20comes%20wrapped%20in%20our%20signature%20%22You%20are%20so%20Strong%22%20wraps%20which%20are%20held%2
