30 - measures around 32 at the waist opening and adjusts down to 31 with button.

Should be snug at first, the elastic-free fabric will stretch/expand from wearing (it will snap back after each wash, this is just the nature of 100% elastic-free organic fabric underwear). If it becomes too loose over time, you can add additional buttons for a tighter fit. Model has 32.5 waist and 21 thigh and wears size 30 in the photos. Size 30 measures 32 at the waist opening and adjusts down to 31 with button. This is in keeping with our recommendation to allow 1-2 room between the boxers and actual waist for comfort. Not designed for those with very thick athletic thighs because there is no elastic or polyester in the knit fabric (although the knit does get looser with wear).
