The Government of India has updated the definition and classification of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), effective from 01.07.2020, basing it on a composite criterion of net turnover and net investment in plant and machinery or equipment, thus encouraging more enterprises to retain their MSME status and promote growth.
