SEM images (a) showing pure biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) granules

Description

Download scientific diagram | SEM images (a) showing pure biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) granules, and BCP coated with 10 mg/ml fibrinogen (FNG; FNG10-BCP), and 40 mg/ml FNG (FNG40-BCP). Lyophilized FNG is irregularly distributed on the granule surface, and a high FNG density is observed on FNG40-BCP granules. The stability of adsorbed FNG was determined using SDS-PAGE (b) and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy (c). Native FNG shows three major bands of approximately 65, 50, and 45 kDa. Similar band patterns are observed in the FNG10-BCP and FNG40-BCP lanes. In addition, the amplitude of CD spectra of FNG desorbed from both FNG10-BCP and FNG40-BCP are slightly reduced when compared with that of native FNG. from publication: Enhanced bone healing by improved fibrin-clot formation via fibrinogen adsorption on biphasic calcium phosphate granules | Objectives: Fibrin clots play an important role in bone tissue regeneration. This study aimed at improving the fibrin-clotting rate by coating the surface of biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) granules with fibrinogen (FNG). Methods and materials: FNG was coated on the BCP | Calcium Phosphates, Fibrinogen and Granulation | ResearchGate, the professional network for scientists.
